About Swimming Academy
Swimming Academy is our ‘learn to swim’ programme. It is run in accordance with the Amateur Swimming Association’s (ASA) National Plan for Teaching Swimming (NPTS) for children and adults. All of our Swimming Teachers are fully qualified and our lessons offer a safe and fun environment to develop a valuable ‘life’ skill. The NPTS is an ‘all-inclusive’ programme which takes the non-swimmer from his or her first splash to developing confidence and competence in the water. The swimmer’s ‘progression through the NPTS will result in the development of a wide range of skills with the opportunity to participate in water polo, synchronised swimming, diving, life saving or progress into competitive swimming. These skills when put together result in a competent, confident and safe swimmer who has the skill base to participate in a wider range of water based sports including surfing, canoeing and yachting . Our adult swimming programme offers classes for beginners through to advanced swimmers wanting to improve or learn another stroke or may be considering participating in the first Triathlon Payment Options We offer customers a choice of payment options to suit individual requirements including: Paying monthly by Direct Debit avoids having to queue at re-enrolment time, reduces the burden of a one-off payment and eases continuation of swimmers through the lesson programme. Progression We run a system of continuous improvement for our children’s swimming lesson programme. This enables the swimmer to progress on achievement of criteria rather than at the end of a course. It also allows the swimmer to move up quickly if they achieve the criteria quickly, saving money in the long run. How to Book Swimming Lessons You will need to contact the Swimming Academy Co-ordinator at your nearest Centre to book yourself or your child onto swimming lessons. Our Co-ordinator will discuss with you the current level of you or your child and the best lesson time to suit you.
